Thirty years ago, Bishop Kane sacrificed his daughter to stop the end of the world.
He believed one life could save millions.
He was wrong.
Now cursed with undeath and bound to a secret order that uses him like a weapon, Kane is sent back to the one place he swore he’d never return—the town where he failed his child.
But something in those frozen woods has begun to stir.
Something ancient. Something hungry.
Something that remembers his name.
As a brutal blizzard cuts the town off from the world, the dead whisper through the snow, shadows twist in the streets, and the sins Kane buried three decades ago claw their way back into the light.
He failed once.
He won’t get another chance.
And this time, the darkness wants more than a sacrifice—it wants him.
Sleepers Awake is a brutal, heart-wrenching supernatural thriller, crawling with revenants, demons, and monsters that wear the faces of those you love. Once you open this book, it won’t let you go. Not until the screaming stops.

A different kind of horror and lots of action. I really enjoyed reading hopefully we'll read more about Bishop. Great character.
This book was really good. Written as a screenplay, and I would have loved this movie. It’s got a lot of action. The characters are well developed and so is the town. You really get a good picture of the villains and the town. The villains are pretty original too. It’s gruesome at times and heartbreaking at others. It’s got everything a good horror story should have!
This book never becomes slow or boring. Small town lead to tragedy and death. Always expected the unexpected. Simple life not always simple. Death can strike at anytime. Would you want eternity to be on the good side or the bad. The gifts of the dead are tempting.
Too many overused adjectives and too many grammatical and sentence structure errors tells me the book was rushed .... Read like volume, not quality.
Bishop Kane (Ministry of the Wraith undead bounty hunter) saved James Rayford (42) for last.Danaid, AL. Sheriff Sean (dad), family consisted of Kevin (8, son,) & Petra (Sean’s GF, stepmother). The Trading Post (1st/Main). Sheriff Sean went to see Billy Walters. It seems all the stores are getting short of grocery items.Nancy Tinsel (wife/mother) was telling Sheriff Sean; Floyd Tinsel (husband/father), took Randy Tinsel (son/brother, UCLA; biotechnology), hunting out at the Monk’s Head Mine. They had not returned.Jessica Walters (daughter), told Ruth Walters (wife/mother), & Billy Walters (husband/father) there was a woman outside the house.Billy found Petra unresponsive, cold/shivering.What deep dark secrets does she hold? What must Bishop Kane do?The creature roared as it came through the window. Broken glass was everywhere.Violet, & Kevin hid in the tub upstairs.Who will live & who will die?I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written paranormal book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a huge set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great paranormal movie, or better yet a mini TV series. It was just OK, & not my normal read so I will only rate it at 4/5 stars.Thank you for the free author; Ministry of the Wraith Press; Amazon Digital Services LLC.; bookTony Parsons MSW (Washburn)

Wow, what an amazing collection of short, sharp, shocks! Brilliant. This book contains about sixty horror flash fiction stories of a thousand words or less from a selection of authors, which means you can easily pick it up whenever you a few spare minutes, or to while away a boring commute to work.Highly recommended.
Can't wait to start reading his books! Very excited to explore a new author.
This book was brilliant! There were times when I was reading it sat on the edge of my seat, biting my nails. I had to read it in one sitting as I couldn't put it down ❤
Great story! Slow burn at the start but most definitely worth the wait. Great characters and story concept. Very well done. Will definitely read more from the author.
Wow, Avernus Island 🏝️💀 was freaking fantastic!! It grabs a hold of you from the beginning and does not let go!! You will fine yourself reading between your fingers as you try to cover your eyes from seeing what is going to happen next and holding your breath from time to time rooting for the characters. You will be jumping at the littlest of sounds in the middle of the night, and you will never be able to look at a puddle of water the same way. I absolutely loved AI 🏝️💀, and trust me it had some big shoes to fill after reading the first book A Dark Breed in “The Monsters and Mayhem Collection”. I can’t wait to see what is next in the collection of complete freaking amazingness by Patrick McNulty. His writing style is incredible. There is not a dull moment in his storytelling. You will find yourself invested and enthralled and staying up reading late into night to read just one more chapter and then wanting to read it all over again. Both books are just that good. Keep them coming Patrick McNulty you sir are a wicked genius. So please keep weaving those tales. I’ll always and forever be giving forests, puddles and dead bare trees the side eye!!
I received this book as an Arc from the author and I’m writing a review because I want to. This is pure unadulterated horror. A man inherits an island that’s been in his family. He’s hoping it will be a godsend financially. It’s not. Recommended
When Dan Avernus returns to his home after hearing that his father has died and left the family island to him. The horror of what his ancestors have done will come to light as the dead react their Revenge on the family and friends.
I couldn’t put this down! The story is creepy and suspenseful. Do yourself a favor and read this book now!
It's best if you start this novel without knowing a thing about it. I think it is a superb horror novel and is a good choice for all fans of horror. The writing is very good. There is just enough description without it getting bogged down. The characters are well enough developed. This is real spooky stuff. What is calling Dan to the place where he was born and the nearby island with its terrible secrets? Dan and Sarah Avernus have lost their son but he is being called back to his home. If that type of loss puts you off, then skip this book. If not, cozy up in your favorite easy chair or recliner on a Saturday night; put a log in the fireplace; and immerse yourself! Come home! Come home to Avernus Island!
If you like stories that keep you on the edge this book is for you. Brilliantly written loved it
Devoured this book in two evenings. I haven't felt the wonderful creepy feeling I get when I read a good book in a long time! Bravo
I had the opportunity to read this early and omg so glad and thankful, because I seriously could not put this down. This starts off slow and is full action in the last half!Dan inherits Avernus Island and it could be a better opportunity for his family. Turn things around in the slump they are in. But some family secrets are better left undisturbed and left locked away. What is seen as a opportunity soon goes awry. This book is a must read as everything by Patrick McNulty. Believe me you will not put this down and I will not be looking into any wells anytime soon!
McNulty really throws a gut punch with this one. Dan and his wife have have recently lost their son. Their daughter still talks to her brother, though. And now Dan's dad has passed, leaving them the family's island. But Avernus Island has secrets and those secret wish to take revenge. This is my third book by this author. He's quickly becoming a favorite!
