This time we are going to shake things up.
Each month the incredible community of horror readers and writers will vote on the monthly theme.
You! That's right, you get to decide on theme!
How fun is that?
Next, once the theme has been selected, each contestant will submit a horror flash fiction story between 500 to 1000 words.
No more. No less.
- NO EROTICA
- NO HATE SPEECH
- NO SCENES OF RAPE / GRAPHIC TORTURE
- Only ONE entry per writer / per month.
- The same writer can win in MULTIPLE MONTHS so please enter every month!
- I retain the right to exclude any submitted story based on personal preference.
Each month FIVE amazing entries will be selected. Those entries will be collected and published in the upcoming
FLASHES OF DARKNESS: AN ANTHOLOGY OF HORROR FLASH FICTION Vol. 2
The GRANDPRIZE WINNER each month, the story I personally thought was the best of the bunch, will receive a prize pack of SIGNED PAPERBACKS from the very talented and very impressive FEATURED AUTHORS of that particular month.

Museum goblin and lover of all things gothic. Catriona is a new author on the horror scene, but has been a reviewer and avid reader of horror, and particularly indie horror, for a number of years.
A.M. BACON
Having served our Country in both the Marine Corps (1989-1993) and US Army (1993-2005), A M Bacon has spent years reading and collecting books, comic books and interesting items.
His first published story was in the No Anesthetic Anthology by Splatter Ink, and he's been cranking out shorts over the past 2 years.

Our GRANDPRIZE WINNER, Stephen Barnard has been writing and self-publishing for a number of years. He predominantly writes horror / suspense, but has also written the science fantasy trilogy, 'Portentous'.
KELLAN STANDLEY
Kellan is another newcomer to the contest but his spartan writing style and fast paced narrative flow make it easy to see why he was in the top 5.
DAN MCKEITHAN
Dan is a relative nexcomer to the contest, but his detailed prose and vivid imagination has marked him as a horror writer to watch!
JOSEPH SACKETT
Joseph A. Sackett is a retired military veteran with over 20 years of service in SOCOM and JSOC. Whether delving into the collapse of society or the horrors lurking in the shadows, Joseph’s gripping novels are a must-read for fans of post-apocalyptic and horror fiction alike.
DAVID LAPAGE JR.
David Lapage, Jr. has written several short stories and quite a few school papers. When not writing something, he enjoys watching movies, tinkering in the garage, and geocaching.
