"DON'T LOOK OUTSIDE AFTER DARK"

Next, comes the fun part - each contestant will submit a horror flash fiction story between 500 to 1000 words.

No more. No less.

  • NO EROTICA
  • NO HATE SPEECH
  • NO SCENES OF RAPE / GRAPHIC TORTURE
  • Only ONE entry per writer / per month.
  • The same writer can win in MULTIPLE MONTHS so please enter every month!
  • I retain the right to exclude any submitted story based on personal preference.

Each month FIVE amazing entries will be selected. Those entries will be collected and published in the upcoming

FLASHES OF DARKNESS: AN ANTHOLOGY OF HORROR FLASH FICTION Vol. 2

The GRANDPRIZE WINNER each month, the story I personally thought was the best of the bunch, will receive a prize pack of SIGNED PAPERBACKS from the very talented and very impressive FEATURED AUTHORS of that particular month.

K.L. Patrick

K. L. Patrick is a writer, philosopher, and playwright. Born in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, his work is focused mainly in Appalachia, and the horrors that can lie in the unknown regions of the mountains.

He has a bachelor’s degree in theatre. Before pursuing writing, he channeled his creative energies through music and theatre. Having worked on over ninety plays, in every role, from director to lighting designer, to actor.

He has a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University. His inspiration comes from the monster stories of old, as well as older slasher films. The question always bit at him when watching them. Could this happen in this tiny rural area, and if it does, what does it look like?

Brad Thomas is an English author of Horror, Thriller, and short stories. From a young age, all he wanted to do was become an author. Viggy Parr Hampton

Viggy Parr Hampton, MPH is an epidemiologist, content marketing strategist, host of the podcast “Horror Humor Hunger,” and the author of A Cold Night for Alligators, Much Too Vulgar, and The Rotting Room. She is a graduate of Georgetown University and Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health. She is also a member of the DreadPop Magazine team, producing the popular YouTube segment “Tag Team Tales of Terror,” where she challenges fellow horror authors to create a progressive story with her.
