My favourite review

I got this review recently:

“If I could give this book a million stars, I would!”

Okay.

As an author, you spend a ridiculous amount of time alone with a story.

You write it. Rewrite it. Cut things. Put them back. Wonder if it’s any good. Decide it is. Then wonder again.

Eventually, you put it out into the world.

And then comes the really strange part.

Other people actually read it.

People you’ve never met.

And every once in a while, someone tells you that something you spent months creating really connected with them.

That never gets old.

I’m not going to pretend every reader is going to love everything I write.

That’s just not going to happen.

But when someone connects with a story enough to say “a million stars”?
